We just had our first three trick-or-treaters at the door. Two boys and a little girl: Iron Man, Spider-Man (with matching Spidey head lantern) and a frog in a tutu.
Iron Man was so excited when he spied the bowl of candy that he walked into the foyer and just started to reach. I couldn’t blame him, it was eye level after all. His father was embarrassed, gently corrected his son to announce what they practiced when they ascended our front stoop.
The candy bowl is overflowing and resting by the door. For ease of handling, I bundled Chupa Chups into small bouquets taping their sticks tightly together. And trivia for anyone who cares, did you know that Salvador Dalí created their logo in the 60s?
A spicy ragù alla bolognese bubbles on the stove top as the water slowly reaches a roiling boil. Then whole wheat noodles will plunge to their al dente demise and shortly thereafter, a warm dinner and handing out candy for the begging Halloweeners.
We finally got around to seeing Watchmen tonight and as is our custom, we broke into the movie candy stash. There were Junior Mints + Junior Caramels + Whoppers + mini-boxes of Dots.
