I was curious so rather than wait for DVD, I’ve been watching S2 online.
I was enjoying the back-to-back episodes with Victor as Topher. Excellent work by Enver Gjokaj with his pitch perfect impersonation but damn, Joss! Episode 2.6 pushed the limits for me though. Topher just smacked Bennett to knock her out and despite his humour about how it hurt, there was just something disturbing about that.
And Glau is basically playing another crazy über-intelligent damaged beauty in a Joss Verse. I didn’t mind the other Whedon alums appearing. Tudyk was good + Acker was nuanced but Bennett just felt like River in different clothes.
And I’m done.
Seriously, people were surprised it was canceled? The show was on the bubble from its inception! Nothing’s in the Whedonverse is truly over, it might resurrect itself after its television demise to the comicsphere, remember?
Speaking of comics, enjoy this one with a grain of salt. Click the image for the original source.
It should be illegal to be this cute. Thank you Aly + Alexis + their roo for the cuteness. More photographs can be found here.
